The purpose of this project is to upgrade the existing network infrastructure in the warehouse to deliver more reliable and higher-quality network connectivity along with improved WiFi coverage. By installing new network equipment—including switches, routers, and WiFi access points—we aim to reduce network downtime, support increased device density, and enhance overall operational efficiency. This renewal addresses current limitations, provides scalable solutions for future growth, and ensures seamless communication across the warehouse for improved connectivity and minimal interruptions.
- Deliver a robust and reliable network infrastructure to enhance overall network performance throughout the warehouse.
- Improve WiFi signal strength and coverage across the entire facility to support mobile device usage by staff.
- Replace or supplement outdated equipment with industry-leading devices such as the latest switches, routers, and WiFi access points.
- Ensure scalability for future expansions or additional equipment without significant rework.
- Minimize disruption to daily warehouse operations during installation and transition.
This project encompasses the full overhaul of the current warehouse network infrastructure. The scope includes the assessment, planning, procurement, and installation of new network hardware in the warehouse. Implementation is geographically limited to the main warehouse facility and will adhere to a fixed timeline, ensuring the network upgrade is completed with minimal operational disruption. Critical boundary conditions include working within the existing power and physical constraints of the warehouse environment and coordinating installation activities during off-peak hours, where feasible, to reduce downtime.
- Installation of new network switches and routers
- Deployment of modern WiFi Access Points to ensure comprehensive and redundant coverage throughout the warehouse
- Network layout planning, including site surveys and installation design tailored to the warehouse environment
- Configuration and integration of new network equipment with the existing IT ecosystem
- Upgrades to network security, including firewall enhancements and implementation of current encryption standards
- User training on new network equipment and maintenance best practices
- Testing and validation of network performance post-installation
- Any infrastructure work required outside the warehouse facility (e.g., office IT updates or external remote work connectivity improvements)
- Replacement or upgrades to hardware unrelated to the network infrastructure (e.g., desktop computers, printers, or other operational equipment)
- Long-term maintenance contracts or support services beyond the initial post-installation testing phase
- Major construction or facility alterations to the physical layout of the warehouse unless directly impacting the network installation environment
- Facilities, Network Engineer, Architect
